The given charts illustrate the expenditure of households in four main fields in the UK, Australia and Japan in 2013.
Overall, all three countries remained their ranks at housing and transportation expenditures while there were slight changes in healthcare and food expenses.
To begin with, a significant amount of money in the UK and Japan was spent on housing, accounting for well above 25% and nearly a quarter, respectively. In contrast, in Australia, housing expenditure ranked second, comprising below 25%. Likewise, for transportation sector, the UK and Japan spent more money than Australia.
Turning to healthcare and food expenditures, Australia and Japan allocated a considerable majority of money to healthcare sector; Japan’s expenditure on healthcare (20%) was slight less than Australia’s expenses (just over 20%). On the other hand, healthcare expenses of the UK made up only nearly 10%. Furthermore, Australia’s food sector took the least amount of budget, ranking the country at third place.
