Overall, Asia started as dominant manufacturing region in 1840, however experienced a downward trend until 1960, while Europe’s contribution grew significantly by 1840. The rest of the world steady growth reaching approximately 40% in 1960.
The highest percentage of all time in Asia was 50% in 1840, which is equal to that of Europe in 1920. The rest of the world 10%, which was the lowest percentage of all time. In the following years, the indicators of Europe and Asia changed to the opposite. Although, Asia has been recovering since 1960. Europe,in the interim, showed significant reduction to nearly one-third by the end of the specified period.
