At first glance, romance books remained the highest payment throughout the period, surpassing the other five categories. It is also notable that only the income of romance books rose after 4 years, the other four categories decreased.
Regarding the first three years, initially, romance books earned roughly 80000 dollars, which were the highest expanses. While the data for classics and sci-fi & fantasy witnessed the smallest payment with nearly 20000 dollars. In the following year, most genres’ income increased, except the young adult. In 2008, there was a dramatic decline in five categories, with 70000 dollars for romance and 53000 dollars for mystery respectively. The data for the other three genres were just lower than 21000 dollars.
In the rest of the period, the expenditures for romance copies grew constantly, reaching 86000 dollars in 2010. While young adult and mystery copies rose slightly and those attained 28000 dollars and 57000 dollars respectively, the figures for classics declined roughly half of that in 2008, at 10000 dollars. It is noticeable that the payment for sci-fi & fantasy remained consistent as that of the year 2008 at 13000 dollars.
