Overall, in Europe and North America, the most amount of water is used for industrial purposes; however, in the other four areas (South America, South East Asia, Africa and Central Asia) the water is mostly used for agricultural purposes.
The highest amount of water consumption in Central Asia and Africa belongs to agricultural use with 88% and 84%, respectively. The water used for industrial and domestic use is less than 10% in both places. In South America and South East Asia, agricultural use shares approximately more than 70% in the pie chart. In South East Asia, the lowest amount of water consumption is attributed to Domestic usage with 7%; while, in South America, the lowest percentage of water used belongs to industrial use with 10%.
Regarding North America and Europe, the most amount of water consumption belongs to industrial purposes with 48% and 53%, respectively. While the lowest amount of water consumption belongs to domestic proposes with almost less than 15% of the share.
