By comparison, the figure for bus and rail was higher, roughly 43 billion and 47 billion respectively. In total, approximately 105 billion kilometers were covered by people on all of these 5 transports in 1990.
By 2000, patterns were almost the same as the circumstance in 1991. The quantity of kilometers crossed by individuals on a bicycle, motorbike, and air transportation was the lowest and almost similar, roughly 6 billion. The figure for bus and rail was also the same, just below 45 billion kilometers, making them the highest levels in 2000. The total of 125 billion kilometers was traversed by people on these transports, which was 20 billion more than the statistic in 1991.
