The figure for children’s fiction remained steady during this period, which only increased 2%. However, the proportions of other categories decreased gradually, and the lowest one was the type of biology in 1992 (15%).
The figure for adult fiction increased dramatically in 2012, and became the highest one at 45%. Although the proportion of children’s fiction rose in these 20 years, it did not surpass 30% and was at 25% in 2012. In terms of travel, biology and others fell significantly in 2012. Travelling books fell to 10%, and the other books decreased at 12%. The figure for biology became the least popular in 2012, which was only 8%.
