Overall, there was a significant number of births to a woman in Kazakhstan initially and it declined at the end of the period. Women in the UK had fewer number of children comparatively throughout the period. The average age at which woman in the UK had their first child was in their late 20s. By contrast, woman in Kazakhstan had child at their younger age in the beginning phase and it increased over the period.
Kazakhstani women had the highest number of children in 1920 which was close to 4. This figure remained relatively stable till 1940 until it peaked at 4.5 in 1960 which was more than women in the UK. It then underwent a dramatic decline in birth to 2.5 in 2000. The values slightly increased as the years passed. Two children were born to a woman in the UK in 1920 and it gradually increased to a value nearest to 3 in 1960. There was a sudden decline in the figures in 1980. Since then, it hovered below 2 children till 2019.
The age of women in the UK who gave birth to their first child was at their later stages around 26.5, 27.8 and 27.5 years in 1920,1940 and 1960 respectively. In comparison, women in Kazakhstan from early 20s had their first child in the same consecutive years. In 1980, 2000 and 2019 the women in Kazakhstan reached the similar ages of women in the UK (about 26,26.9 and 27.9 in the respective years) to have their first child.
