Overall, the borrowing rates decreased in all types of books, Adult fiction, Adult non fiction, and Children’s Books. However, the Top audio visual material borrowed increased over the given periods.
On the one hand, people who borrowed books such as Adult fiction, Adults non fiction, and Children’s books declined. Number of people borrowing from libraries the Adult fiction was 330 million in 1995 then the borrowings declined to 230 million in 2005. Starting at 1113 million borrowings of the Adult non fiction decreased to 161 million and 110 million in the final year. Finally the borrowing rate of the children’s books decreased from 107 million to 104 millions in 2005.
On the other hand, however, borrowing rates of the top audio visual materials increased over the years. In 1995, borrowings of the top audio visual materials was unpopular 28 millions, then the borrowing rose to 60 in 2005.
