The given chart below displays information about the urban population growth in certain parts of the world is which also includes prediction of the future.
Overall, if we look into the chart the number of people in several parts of the world seems to increase rapidly. From the year 1950 till 2000, a large growth is seen in population. Even if we took into the predictions of year 2030, a slight spike up can be seen in the graph.
If we look into the graph, in 1950, urban population tend to be only 30% which increased to around 48% in year 2000 and it is predicted to reach upto 60% in the coming time. It clearly states that rural communities are being shifting to urban cities and urbanization is taking place from a very long time.
In Asian and African continents, the graph is almost the same from 1950 to 2000 and also till 2030, 11% of urbanization to 39% in 2000 and 55% till 2030. As compared to other continents, Latin America has been a country with higher population in cities. Around 41% of total population was in cities in 1950 which went upto 70% in 2000 and is expected to reach upto 80% till 2030.
