The given line graph depicts the percentages of people living in cities in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the world in 1950, 2000, and 2030.
Overall, urban population has increased in all regions during these periods and is projected to continue to grow in the future. In all three periods, Latin America has the highest number of urban citizens, while Africa has the lowest.
In 1990, only 30% of people lived in towns in the whole world, which it rose to around 50% by 2000. In Africa and Asia, the percentages are nearly similar to each other that was approximately 10% in 1950 and quadrupled by 2000. While in 1950 about 40% of Africans and Asians were occupied in towns, in 2000 more than two thirds of the population of this region were urban.
In 2030, the percentage of people inhabiting in urban areas will have grown to 60% for the whole world. Almost half of Africans and Asians will have settled in metropolitan areas, that was greater than previous years. In 2030, Latin Africa, similar to 1950 and 2000, will have the most populated cities since forth fifth of its citizens will have stayed in metropolis.
