The bar chart illustrates the populations of three cities in 1990, and their predicted and actual figures for 2000.
Overall, population of three cities increased over the period. Sao Paulo recorded the largest population, while Jakarta had the smallest population throughout the period. In addition, the actual number of population exceeded the predicted number in all three cities.
In 1990, population size of Sao Paulo was the highest at approximately 17 million, whereas Jakarta total was the lowest at around 8 million. The population statistic for Shanghai recorded at about 12 million.
In 2000, the actual number of the population was higher. For Sao Paulo forecasted data was approximately 22 million. However the actual number was around 24 million. Meanwhile, Jakarta value was also predicted to increase to about 11 million, but actual number was at approximately 12 million. By contrast, the statistic for Shanghai predicted a decrease to 11 million, but the actual number increased to 15 million. This was the biggest gap between the forecasted and actual number of population for 2000.
