Overall, home owners experienced a downward trend while renters showed an upward trend through the period. Although renters initially had a lower rate, they attract homeowners at the end of the period.
The percentage of homeowners were about 58% in 2004, being higher than the renters rate by approximately 30%. Then it went down slightly to about 56% in 2006 and went up to 57% in 2007. Next, the figure showed a dramatic decrease to almost 52% in the year 2011 and remained virtually unchanged in 2012. Then it continued to decline steadily to about 36% at the end of the period.
The number of people renting was about 20% in the year 2004 and increased to about 33% in 2005 and remained consistent in 2006. However, the figure experienced a significant a steady growth during the next 5 years, reaching around 41% in 2011. It remained stable in 2012, and continued to rocket to 47% in the year 2014, outraged the rate of homeowners.
