Although variation of the percentages can be seen across the period, the markets were dominated by adult fiction.

This figure rapidly increased and accounted for the largest share in 2012, making up 45%. Similary, children’s fiction experienced the same trend as adult fiction. Initially, the percentage of children’s fiction sales in 1972 stood at 20%. This figure steadily rose to one fourth of total sales in 2012. On the other hand, the proportion of travel, biography, and others book fell across the years.
Moreover, travel book sales was the only figure that fluctuated. Initially, the percentage of travel book sold by this bookseller rose from 15% in 1972 to 18% in 1992. However, this figure rapidly fell down to 10% two decades later.
