All three graphs repsent different percentages of each genre the bookseller sold each year, starting from 1972 all the way to 2012, showing an increase and decrease of a specific genre throughout the years.
Overall, the percentage of Adult ficiton readers doubled over the years, from 1972 to 2012. Sadly, the consumers did not appreciate The Travel and Biography books throughout this time period. However, the love for children’s books grew steadily over the years.
To start with, in 1972 Adult fiction stood at 20%, so did Biography and children’s fiction, while Travel presented at only 15%. In 1992 we observed a growth in the amount of people purchasing Adult fiction (25%), Travel (18%), and children’s book (22%). However, the amount of individuals purchasing Biographies experienced a 5% decrease. As for the last graph, Adult fiction readers/ buyers surged by 20%, whereas Children’s fiction only rose by 3%. Unfortunately for the bookseller, The amount of purchases regaarding Biography books plummeted to an all time low of 5%. Similarly, Travel dropped by 8%.
