The number of visitors in total experienced a fluctuation, starting with 448,100 people in 1997 and ending with 504,300 people in 2012. The figure for adult visitors stood at 300,100 people in 1997, then started increasing and reached a peak of 400,500 visitors in 2007. Afterwards, the figure decreased slightly to 380,000 visitors at the end of the period.
Starting at 120,000, the number of visitors aged under 15 then declined gradually and reached a bottom of 82,300 in 2012. On the contrary, the opposite trend was seen in the number of special exhibition visitors. The figure for it rose dramatically, from 28,000 in 1997 to 42,000 in 2012.
