The pie charts depict the comparison of household spending of necessities in two specific countries namely Malaysia and Japan in 2010.
Overall, both countries allocated the largest shares of their expenses mostly to food, housing, transport, and other and good services. iN contrast, health care spending is the smallest portion in both countries.
To begin with, in Japan, transport ranked the first as the largest expense at around 29%, while in Malaysia it was housing which represented the highest share of spending at 34%, and in Japan, it was significantly lower at 21%.
Meanwhile, Japanese households spent the most on other and good services which accounted for 29%, slightly more than Malaysians, who spent 20%. Food ranked the second highest proportion in both countries, Japan and Malaysia at around 24% and 27% respectively. SUrprisingly, health care receives the least financial allocation, with a very small percentage, approximately at 6% in Japan and 3% in Malaysia.
