The pie charts give information about the average household expenditures in Japan and Malaysia in 2010 in five categories: Housing, Transport, Food, Health Care and Other and Good services.
Overall, while the families in Malaysia allocated money primarily in Housing, households in Japan spent most in Other and Good Services. However, the least family expenditure in both countries was the same: in Health Care. Meanwhile, both countries have similar expenditure in food as well.
In Malaysia, 34% of household expenditure in 2010 was in Housing, making it the most expenditure category of the year, in Japan, they only spent 21%. However, while 29% of family expenses in Japan was in Other and good Services, as the biggest part of allocation, only 20% of Malaysian households spent for the same need.
In terms of health care, households in Japan allocated 6% of their expenditure, similar to Malaysians who spent 3%, making this category of expenditure the least in both countries. Meanwhile in food expenditure, Malaysia spent 27%, just above Japan with 24% of total family expenditure.
