The given bar graph illustrates the weekly spending in pence for ready to eat meals by different income groups people in britain while the line graph represents the amount of fast foods in grams over the period of twenty years. The mostly preferred foods were hamburgers, fish and chips and pizza.
As an overall trend, hamburger is mostly eaten among the high income group and average income group. For both group earning more and low have equal expenditure for fish and chips. As a general trend, comparatively pizza is eaten mostly by the group with higher income than average income. Between 1970 and 1990, there was gradual increase in consumption of hamburgers and pizza whereas the preference for fish and chips decreased slowly.
As it is presented in bar graph, among three fast foods expenses for hamburger is around 45 pence for the people with more salary and 35 pence for people with less salary. In comparision to other groups low income family spends only 14 pence for hamburgers. Both group with high and low earnings showed equal expenditures for fish and chips. The british spendings on pizza decreased gradually according to the income level, i.e. 20 pence, 12 pence and 8 pence for high income, average income and low income respectively.
Between 1970 to 1990, consumption of hamburgers increased siginificantly from 100 grams to 500 grams whereas there was moderate decrease in intake of fish and chips from 300 to 200 grams. From 1970 to 1980, people took pizza steadily and the consumption increased moderately from 50 grams to around 300 grams during the period of 10 years.
