The charts depict the percentage of people arrested and the reasons of being restrained from 1990 to 1994.
Generally speaking, men were arrested much more frequently than women. Besides, the percentage of males committing various crimes was mostly higher as well.
Starting with the ratio, there were 32% of men accused of being guilty, while 68% of them remained innocent. On the other hand, roughly one-tenth of females were caught by the police, whereas the vast majority of 91% did not commit any crimes during these 5 years.
In regard to the reasons, impressively, women were more likely to break the law by public drinking, representing just over 25%. Furthermore, drink driving, breach of order, and theft had almost the same proportion, comprising between 10% and 15%. In addition, assault and other reason were quite similar at around 17-18%. Concerning males, public drinking was also the lead cause of being arrested, and formed approximately 31%. At the same time, 15-20% accounted for such reasons as breach of order, assault, theft, and other causes. Finally, no answer was the least surprising category, which made up a little less than 5% for men, and a little more than 5% for women.
