The bar chart compares the elder generation and younger ones interest in a day for leisure and sport activities with how much time was dedicated to each activity in the USA in 2015.

Overall, both age groups showed increasingly high interest in watching Tv, the figure which truly stands out among the remaining categories. Moreover, a lot of enthusiasm was given towards activities such as watching TV, reading and relaxing by the elderly rather than youngsters, while the reverse was true for the remaining categories, with the younger ones showing higher interest.

Among the activities which the elderly seemed to take more interest is was watching TV. Youngsters spent 2 hours of their time glued to screens, while the elderly spent the double amount, showing 4.5 hours a day for this activity, which was the widest gap difference among all activities. Reading and relaxing/ thinking was also a pastime enjoyed mostly by the 75+ age group rather than the 15-19+ group, with the former demonstrating 1 hours and 0.5 for both activities, and the latter showing approximately o.2 and even lower for the next activity.

Socializing/communicating, playing games/ computer use for leisure and sport exercise and recreation – all 3 activities were dominated in participation by the younger groups. Both elderly and youngers seemed to have similarity in the number of hours spent for communiting and socialising with both showing 45 minutes. The figures for playing computer games among younger ones were just over 1 hour while elderly spent much less and spent nearly 20 minutes each day. Sport seemed to have been the least interesting activity for the elderly, showing nearly 10 minutes of allocation throughout the day ,while the youngers were a bit more enthusiastic towards it with spending 30 minutes a day
