The given chart illustrates the tendency of different kinds of offenders in the centre of Newport City between 2003 and 2012.
It is obvious that the number of incidents associated with cars and robbery witnessed a fluctuated change, while it was a marginal decrease for burglary cases. Furthermore, the data of robbery was likely to be the lowest during the period and did not have any significant change.
In 2003, nearly 3500 incidents belong to burglary, compared to that of almost 3000 cases of car theft and 600 for robbery. From that year to 2006, there was a remarkable drop for burglary offenders, which reached a peak in 2004 and fell to 2600 in 2006. At the same time, both statistics of car theft and robbery declined significantly to 2000 and 700 cases, respectively.
From that time to 2008, this tendency of burglary dropped marginally to 1200 cases, but the opposite was true for those of car theft and robbery, which remained at 2000 and 500, respectively. From 2009 to 2012, there was not any changes for the number of breaking the law belong to burglary and robbery, which stopped at 1400 and 550, as opposed to that of car theft cases with a slight increased to 2800 in the year 2012.
