The line graph shows how many incidents such as burglary, car theft, and theft from people were caused by crime in the inner city between 2003 and 2012. Overall, the number of burglary followed downward trends, whereas, the figure of car theft and robbery followed similar trends, fluctuation.
Regarding car theft and robbery, in 2003, the number of car theft was just under 3000 incidents, nearly six times more than the figure of robbery. The following two years, the number of incidents of car theft stayed unchanged, however, the figure of robbery experienced a slight increase to just under 1000 incidents. Both car robberies and robberies declined in the next three years, respectively 2000 and 500. A fluctuation of about 500 incidents was witnessed in the number of car thefts in the last period and reached just under 3000 incidents in 2012. While, the figure of robbery fluctuated and reached the origin number.
By contrast, the rate of burglary was highest in 2003 with around 3500 incidents. In the next year, the figure reached a high with 3800 incidents before decreasing dramatically to 1000 incidents in 2008. From 2008 to 2012, the number of burglaries fluctuated and reached a low of just under 1500 incidents.
