The table compares the percentages by which the cost of living in Riverdale and Cape Alicia are above or below the national average in six categories, namely groceries, housing, utilities, transportation, health care and clothing.
Overall, Riverdale had higher costs than the national average in all categories, while Cape Alicia was generally close to the national figure. Housing showed the biggest difference between the two cities, whereas groceries had the smallest variation.
In Riverdale, all six categories were more expensive than the national average. Housing recorded the highest figure at 19%, making it by far the most costly item. Health care was also noticeably higher, at 7%. The percentages for clothing, groceries and utilities were quite similar, standing at 5.5%, 4.7% and 4.5% respectively. Transportation was the lowest category in Riverdale, although it was still 4% above the national average.
By contrast, Cape Alicia showed much lower figures. Housing was 12.5% below the national average, which was the largest deviation in this city. Transportation was also cheaper, at 3.8% below average. The remaining categories were slightly more expensive than the national level. Utilities stood at 1.2%, while clothing accounted for 1%. Health care was 0.8% higher and groceries was only 0.5% above average. These figures show that Cape Alicia were generally less expensive than Riverdale in almost every category.
