The given bar chart illustrates the money usage on food and drink, restaurant and hotel, and entertaiment between five distinctive age brackets of dwellers in the UK in the year 2004.
Overall, it is evident that as age advanced, the spending priorities of people changed. The older age groups spent more on food and drink, and Entertaiment , especially at people who belonged to the 61 to 75 age bracket, while the 76+ age range did not give much importance to entertainment.
The proportion of people expenditure on Food and Drink increased significantly with age, from about 7% among under 30 year-olds to nearly 23% among 76 year-olds. Meanwhile, the under 30 age bracket tend to spend most of their money on visiting restaurant & hotel, at about 14%. Moreover, the data on those aged 31-45 and 46-60 age ranges expenditure on restaurant and hotel vitually similar, at around 12%, followed by the over 76 age group, at about 7%. The 61-15 age bracket, however, accounted for the lowest number, at only 2%.
With regards to the entertaiment, people who belonged to the 61 to 75 age range paid the most for this category : at about 23%, while the figure for the 40-60 and 76+ age groups were lower, at 14% and 13%, respectively. The young age groups spend a small amount of money for this service, with nearly 7% of under 30 year olds and 31-45 year-olds.
