Overall, European people had a preference for using private cars during the period shown. In addition, the reverse pattern was true for bus, coach and taxi.
In 1996, the number of private cars in Europe was about 19 millions, becoming the highest point in the given chart. Additionally, the figure for all others and motorcycles were much lower, with only 2 millions and 1 million, respectively. After ten years, private cars continued to lead with the figure of 24 millions. Besides, there was a upward trend in the quantity of all others to exactly 3.5 millions, whereas the figure for motorbike experienced a gradual decline by 0.4 million.
Turning to the remainning vehicles, we can see that in the year 1996, the number of lorries in European use started at around 0.5 million, compared to 0.1 millon of bus, coach and taxi. At the end of the period, the figure for lorries minimally dropped to 0.4 million while the quantity of bus, coach and taxi remain unchanged.
