Overall, it is clear that more females enrolled in every subject except Art and Design. The highest number of students enrolled was in English Language and Literature.
Subjects related to English Language and Literature were mostly studied by female students, comprising exactly 250, followed by Linguistics, and Communication and Media, with just under 240 students. Philosophy, Art and Design had around 150 students, which was 30 more than History and Archaeology.
In terms of male students, there was a significant difference between those who studied English Language and Literature and those who studied Philosophy. The number of males in English Language and Literature was about 230, while only 50 males studied Philosophy. The number of males who studied Linguistics, Art and Design was well below 200, almost twice as many as those studying History and Archaeology. Communication and Media had just over 200 male students.
