Looking at the illustration, it is immediately evident that Asia showed a strong upward trend and became the largest market by the end of the period. In contrast, North America experienced a slight decline throughout the years. Meanwhile, Europe remained stable trend, while South America accounted for the smallest proportion of sales in most years.
In 2006, Europe recorded the highest figure at 34%, followed by North America at 30%. Asia accounted for the percentage of sales at 25%, whereas South America had the lowest figure at just 11%. In 2008, sales in Asia increased from 25% to 35%, overtaking North America in 2008. Europe also rose slightly and reached a peak of 38% in the same year. By contrast, North America decreased from 30% to 21%, while South America declined gradually to 6%.
In 2010, Asia continued to dominate the chart, accounting for 50% of the car manufacturing total sales. Europe and South America grew slightl overall at 30% and 11%, respectively. By contrast, North America declined substantially with only 9%.
