The line graph illustrates the proportion of Australian people who were born in different parts of the world from 1976 to 2011. Overall, the total percentage of Australians experienced a fluctuation over the period of 35 years and showed the highest percentages in the graph at the end. It is also clear that the figure for the UK declined, while the opposite was true for Asia and other places.
As shown in the details, the UK and other places showed a slight decrease until 1986. The former declined from 14% to 10% and the latter from 11% to 8%. However, after 1986, other countries staged a recovery to 13%, while the UK continued its downward trend, reaching a mere 5% in 2011.
Moreover, the case of Asia was at a constant rate. Despite an initial and the smallest percentage of 3%, the Australian people who were born in Asia experienced a fivefold increase to 15%, surpassing those for the UK and other places and becoming the place with the highest proportions.
