The line graph illustrates the proportion of people in different age groups who went to the movie at least once a month in a particular country from 1978 to 2008.
Overall, people aged 14 24 had the highest rate of cinema attendance throughout the period, while the 50+ age group recorded the lowest figures. All groups experienced a decline from 1978 to 1988, followed by a general increase afterwards.

During the following decade, attendance rose in all age groups. In 1998, the figures reached about 90% for the youngest group, 70% for people aged 25-34 and just over 60% for those aged 35-49. The rate for the oldest group doubled to 40%. By 2008, the first three groups had declined slightly, whereas the figure for people aged 50+ increased to 50%, matching the 35-49 group
