Overall,women experienced an upward trend,while children and men showed a downward trend throughout the period.Both children and men’s consumption of fruits per a day had some fluctuations.Although, children initially had a lower rate.
Children’s consumption rate was about 13% in 2001,being lower than men and women’s consumption by approximately 4% and 10%.Then, it shows stabillity and same percentage in the next 2 years – 2002 and 2003.However,the figure showed a gradual increase to about 18% in 2004, and continued to increase steadily to the end of the period reaching about 27% in 2007 and hitting a low-point of about 25% in 2008.
Percentage of men who ate five portions of fruits and vegetables was less than 15% in 2001 and it showed the same percentage and stabillity in 2002 and 2003.However, the figure experienced a steady growth during the next 4 years before 2007.It reached approximately 20% in 2004,then increased by around 3% in 2005.Reached a peak of 27% in 2006 and 2007,but decline to the end of period,reaching around 21%.
The percentage of women’s consumption of fruits and vegerables was the highest every year. It experienced 23% at the beginning of the period and continued increase steadily before it reached a peak of 35% in 2006.However, the figure gradually decline in the next two years and hitting a low- point of about 30% in 2008,outracing the percentage of children and men.
