Overall, the proportion of days spent Working, Relaxing at home, and Travelling to work witnessed a growth whereas that of Going out and sleeping saw a downward trend. In addition, the rate of days for Other activities was the only category that remained unchanged.
In 1958, the percentage of days for Working was the largest sector, with 33%. Similarly, the figure for Sleeping was the second biggest category making up 32 %, and the index of Going out and Relaxing at home accounted for 19% and 8% respectively. However, the proportion of days for Travelling to work and Unnamed activities contained lower figures compared to the remaining categories ( 2% and 6% respectively).
In 2008, the index of Working increased from 33% to 42% whereas that of Relaxing at home saw a slight increase to 13%. Similarly, the figure for Travelling to work rose by 6% in 2008.
