The line graph compares the percentage of river water in Wales, Northern Island, England and Scotland rivers that is classified as having good chemical quality from 1990 to 2002.Overall, while the proportion of good quality river water of Northern Island and Scotland showed the highest point, those that for Wales was lower, England experienced stabilization.
In the initial stage, the proportion of good chemical water both in Wales and Northern Island remained stable from 1990 to 1998, however, Northern Island ‘s good chemical river water surpassed that of Wales in 2000 and remained the highest amount in the final year. As for Wales the proportion of good chemical quality river water decreased significantly from around 95% to 80% , from 1998 to final year.
The percentage of good chemical quality water was 45% in the 1990, then this figure peaked at 70% in 1996, in 1998 it fell and was about 30%, after which it surged to just over 50% in the final year. Compared to Scotland’s water which was 18% in 1990, then it remained unchanged until 1996, after which grew notably from 30% in 1996 to just over 60% in 2000, in 2002 it fell and accounted to 40%
