The bar chart represents the trends in youth population aged 14 years and below in percentages in 1985 and 2008.

Overall, although the percentages were all higher than 15%, the percentage has decreased to less than15% to just over 35% in 2008.

In 1985, youth population in Italy, Euro Area and United Kingdom were all similar just below 20%, whereas the percentage for United States was approximately 21%. In other areas like China, Brazil and India, the percentages of youth were at around 32%, 37%, 38%.

However, in 2008, the percentages of youth trend has fallen significantly for all areas present in the bar chart. China and Brazil have seen the most decrease in percentage, while the United States has seen the least decrease. Italy, Euro Area and United Kingdom have fallen to between 14% to 16%.
