The chart display the percentage of water in UK rivers that was classified as having good chemical quality between 1990 and 2002. The diifferent colour indicates different countries, blue indicates Wales, red signifies Norther Ireland, purple for England and blue defines Scotland.
Overall, the highest percent of good quality river was of Wales with 98% whereas, the lowest was 21% of Scotland in year 1990. Moving upto 2002 we can see many turn overs Nothern Ireland has got highest percentage 98% but Scotland has lowest with 40% of good quality river.
Talking about Wales, it has got the highest percentage of good quality river. In year 1990, 98% was the highest good water quality river. Then the number was increasing slowly till year 1998. Then from year 1998 to 2002 the line starts down grading so, in year 2002 the number reached 80%.
Moving to Northen Ireland, at first the graph was at 85% of having good quality river then the graph starts taking up lift and overtake Wales nearly in year 2000 and reached highest in count at year 2000 and reached 100% then the graph goes down then in year 2002 the count was 98%. England has lot of turn overs. In first year, 1990 it was 45%. So, moving upto year 1996 it has certain up lift in graph and reached 70% in year 1996. After the graph falls down rapidly in year 1998 the count was 30%. Moving up to year 2002 in has increased a little in percent ad reached 40%. Lastly, the Scotland has 21% of good quality river and the graph rises for 5 different years then, reached 60% in 2000 and decreased up to 2002. The result was 40% at the end.
