In addition, Movie, Sports and Economics magazines recorded the same proportion of sales in the middle of the period. Both Economics and Movie magazines recorded the highest figures at the end of the period.
In 2001, Social magazines were the best-selling category, the figure reaching its highest level of approximately 40%. Economics and Sports magazines accounted for around 25% and 17% respectively. By contrast, Music and Movies recorded the lowest figures, comprising about 10% and 5% respectively.
By 2005, sales rates of the Social and Music magazines declined from 40% and 10% to nearly 20% and 5%. Three types of magazines Economics, Sports and Movie sold at the same percentage, each remaining at around 24%.
By the end of the period, both Economics and Movie magazines reached their peaks at 35% and nearly 30%. Sports magazines dipped to about 20%, while Music magazines climbed back to 10%. Furthermore, Social magazines plummeted to around 5%.
