The graphical representation provided portrays the ratio of the number of men and women engaged in a variety of art related subjects at a university in the United Kingdom in 2011. The subject engagement are fine arts, music, graphic designing, sculpture, film studies and photography.
Overall, there is a significantly higher population ratio of female students in comparison to males for subjects such as, fine arts, music, film studies and photography. Whereas male percentage has domination in the subjects like graphic designing and sculpture.
At first glance, the percentage of male pupils in fine arts is almost 30%, while the female population is more than twice of the male students. Secondly, the ratio of engagement of male and female students in music is almost identical to participation in film studies and photography, being almost around 40% males and 60% females.
However, the subjects of graphic designing and sculpture has seen a significantly engagement of male pupils than female, where graphic designing is able to engage almost more than half of the male students and the subject of sculpture has engaged the highest number of males comprising of 60% engagement.
