The graph shows the distribution of oil resources and it’s yearly utilization in different regions.
Overall, the distribution is unequal with Middle East possessing the maximum amount of oil and Asia being the biggest consumer. Eastern Europe is the only region that has an equal amount of production and utilization of oil.
The Middle East is the single largest unparalleled contributor of oil with 56%. No other area even stands close to this figure, and at 14% Canada is second highest share holder, followed by Central and South America, Eastern Europe, and Africa who hold less than 10% of shares. Other areas have an insignificant contribution of less than 5%, the lowest being the joint production of Australia and New Zealand (0.3%).
The picture is different in terms of utilization. Asia is the highest consumer (26%), while United States and Western Europe have a substantial use at 25% and 19% respectively. Other areas exhibit a minimal share with Australia and new Zealand showing a joint percentage of 1.3%.
Asia, United States and Western Europe show a high consumption but very low possession.
