Firstly, there was no usage of refrigerator in 1920 and it was rapidly increased up to almost 53% in 1940. In that year, ownerships had approximately equal percentages in washing machine, refrigerator and vacuum cleaner. However, refrigerator continued to growing and left behind other electrical appliances in 1960 and reached 100% in 1980. Washing machine and vacuum cleaner had equal percentage by 70% in 1960. 20 years later, vacuum cleaner increased to 90% but washing machine decreased by almost 10% and reduced to 62%. Vacuum cleaner catched refrigerator in 2000 and end of 2019 washing machine had 73% and refrigerator and vacuum cleaner had 100%.
Secondly, hours of housework per week started with 50 hours in 1920 and there was a decreasement for 60 years. There was no change with 20 hours in a week between 1980-2000. It followed by 10 hours in a week in 2019.
In conclusion, when an ownership usage of electrical appliances increased, spending time with housework was going to be decrease.
