The bar chart compares the number of newlywed couples from the UK deciding to choose the best location for their honeymoon out of eight destinations, surveyed in 2010 by 5000 pairs.
Overall, while most couples chose to enjoy their honeymoon in Thailand, the Lake District experienced the opposite figure. Moreover, the pairs mainly chose Asian destinations such as Thailand, Bali, the Maldives, or another Caribbean destination such as Costa Rica for their vacation.
The leading numbers are Thailand and Bali – the most common destinations for couples, with 1410 and 1335 couples chosen, respectively. Costa Rica was chosen by over twice as little as Thailand with 750 couples counted. For another location, three-fifths of a thousand chose the Maldives as their honeymoon destination, which was almost half of the Bali figure.
In contrast, the remaining destinations experienced fewer popularities within the couples. Couples chose the Greek Islands twice as many as Paris for their vacation, respectively 432 and 209 couples were surveyed. The number of couples who decided to go to Spain was even smaller with 140 pairs, three times less than the Greek Islands. The Lake District was the least popular destination, picked by 124 out of 5000 couples who participated in the survey.
