The bar chart compares London, Oxford, and Cambridge in terms of housing preferences in four different categories such as apartments, terraced houses, detached houses, and semi-detached houses. Overall, apartments were the most popular type of housing in Liverpool, while semi-detached houses were preferred by the largest proportions of people in London and Manchester. It is also noticeable that London showed a relatively strong preference for semi-detached houses, whereas apartments were considerably more popular in Liverpool.
About apartments and terraced houses, the three cities showed significant differences in housing preferences. Around 58% of people in Liverpool preferred this type of accommodation, which was approximately twice the figure for London, at 29%, and three times that for Manchester, at 19%. In contrast, terraced houses were the least preferred option in Liverpool, at only about 9%, compared with 20% in London and 12% in Manchester.
As for detached houses, the figures were approximately 15% for Liverpool, 25% for London and 35% for Manchester. Finally, semi-detached houses accounted for around 18% of preferences in Liverpool, while the figures for London and Manchester were much higher, at approximately 37% and 36%, respectively. Thus, preferences differed considerably among the three cities, particularly in terms of apartments and semi-detached houses.
