The bar chart illutrates the acconmodations of people in three UK cities, namely Liverpool, London and Manchester in 2009. The figures are given as percentages for four types of housing: apartments, terraced houses, detached houses and semi-detached houses.
Overall, apartments were the most popular type of housing in Liverpool, while people in London and Manchester preferred living in semi-detached houses. In addition, detached houses were more popular in Manchester than in the other two cities.
Looking at the figures of Liverpool, there was about 58% of people preferred apartments. This was much higher than the ones for the other three types of housing. Semi-detached houses were chosen by around 18% of people, while approximately 15% preferred detached houses. Terraced houses were the least common, at only 8%.
In London, the percentage of people choosing apartments was approximately 29%. Semi-detached houses were the most popular choice, at about 37%. Around 25% of people preferred detached houses, while terraced houses accounted for approximately 19%. In Manchester, semi-detached and detached houses were the most popular types, at around 37% and 35% namely. In comparison, only 19% people preferred apartments and around 12% chose terraced houses.
