The chart displays the total amount of minutes in billions of telephone calls in the UK from 1995 to 2002, it is split into three categories.
Overall, local calls have the highest total of minutes compared to the other categories. National and international calls were increasing steadily, and mobile calls were increasing over the year.
Local calls were very popular at that time and has the highest number of minutes spent. Over time, it increased gradually until 1999, which was the peak reaching 90 billion and then continuously dropping down to around 70 billion.
On the other hand, national and international calls grown from around 37 billion minutes to 60 billion. From the year of 2001 to 2002, the amount was stable with no changes. Mobile calls experienced a drastic change from its initial level just about 3 billion and escalated around 45 billion, which technically has increased for 15 times from 1999 to 2002.
