The bar graph illustrates how the export values of different products varied in 2015 and 2016, while the table shows their respective percentage changes in 2016 compared to 2015.
Overall, most products experienced an upward trend in their export earnings in 2016, except for gems and jewellery. Additionally, although petroleum products led the chart for both years, goods from the textile sector saw the most considerable shift in export values in 2016.
During the surveyed period, petroleum and engineered goods were reported to have significantly higher export values than other products in question, with petroleum ones dominating at more than 60 billion, approximately 3 billion higher than commodities of engineering manufacture in 2015. One year later, petroleum products, despite maintaining its first position in the export revenues, witnessed an increase of merely 3%. This stood in sharp contrast to engineered goods, whose export grew substantially by 8.5% in 2016, reaching a whopping 61 billion.
Unlike the aforementioned exported products, the remaining ones registered relatively lower export figures at less than 50 billion. While agricultural and textile industries saw increases in their export supplies, albeit with varying extents, gems and jewellery recorded a decline of 5.18% from 42 billion to just over 40 million in 2016. Noticeably, while agricultural products experienced the least changes with less than 1%, textiles stood out for its effort in raising the export sales from nearly 25 million to more than 30 million in 2015, making it the category with the greatest percentage change of up to 15%.
