Overall, theme parks, musuams and galleries were the most popular attraction, whereas wildlife parks and zoos attacted the smallest proportion of visitors. Among theme parks, Blackpool Pleasure Beach received the highest percentage of visitors.
In terms of details, musuam and galleries accounted for the largest share of visitors approximately over a one third. Theme parks were the second most popural attraction, representing approximately two fifth. The historic houses and monuments attracted approximatily less than a fifth of tourists, while wildlife parks and zoos were visited by only a minority.
Regarding theme parks, Blackpool Pleasure Beach was the most visited destination, accounting for just under a half of theme park visition. Alton Towers ranked second with 17%. Pleasureland in Southport and Chessington World of Advantures each attracted 16% of visitors.
