Analyzing the information in greater detail, in 1980, about 50% of male in Australia were overweight, compared to just under 30% of female. Over the subsequent ten years, Australia saw a significant climb in the rate of outweigh in male, to above 53% in 1990. Additionally, female also followed a similar trend, with the figure eventually increasing to roughly 38% in 1990.
Regarding the other groups, the proportion of overweight men and women in Australia rise gradually to below 70% and 50%, respectively, in 2000. Over the following ten years, the figure for male fell slightly, reaching 65% in 2010. However, the percentage of female have an unhealthy weight still remain unchanged in the final year.
