In 1970, the percentage of German women who joined university education was 50 percent, while the proportion of Canadian women going to higher education was 5 percent higher. After 35 years, the percentage of the female population who went to post-secondary education in Canada did not change and stayed at 60 percent; in comparison, for German women, it went up 5 percent and equalized with Canada.
In the year 1970, the ratio of women who went to higher education in countries such as the UK, USA, and Japan was 35 percent, 40 percent, and 20 percent, respectively. After 35 years, the proportion of females who joined university education in these three countries saw a rise, with the highest being the UK, which comprised 60 percent.
