Overall, emigration to Australia was higher than in other locations. The most preferable year for leaving the UK was 2007 while the least prevalent time for moving in other countries was 2008.
In terms of 2009, Australia had around 55000 british dwellers as opposed to Greece, which had just over 10000 emigrants. It can be seen on the chart that amount of british citizens to Germany in 2007 was slightly higher than in 2009 (about 21000 and exactly 20000 respectively). According to Canada, there were around 36000 people from the UK in 2007, that is by 7000 more than in 2009. In addition, emigrants to Greece in 2007 (around 35000) was over treefold that of 2009, which was only about 11000.
On the other hand, the amount of british people who just left their country in 2006 and 2008 was relatively the same in numerous destinations. Emigrants to Australia, USA and Greece in 2008 were slightly more than in 2006 (around 2000-3000). However, it is interesting to note that people moving from the UK to Germany and Canada in 2006 were more (by 1500 and 7000 respectively.
