The bar chart illustrates the division of. Household tasks between men and women in Great Britian, measured in minutas per person per day.

Overall, the figures for women are significantly higher than those for men almost in all categories, except for gardening, pet care and maintenanse odd job.

To begin with, women spend approximately 75 minutes a day on cooking, baking, and washing up, more than double the 30 minutes recorded for men. The cleaning house and tidying data shows women spend about an hour per day compared to around a quarter of an hour. Conversely, for gardening and pet care men spend more time just about 50 minutes, while women only 20 minutes.

Meanwile, in the care of own children and play, women allocate almost 45 minutes, which is more than double the 20 minutes for men. For maintenance odd job men devote roughly 25 minutes, exceeding women’s by 15 minutes. Most noticable of all is the clothes washing, ironing, and sewing figure, where women devote around 25 minutes and men only 2 minutes.
