The trend illustrates the amount of employment categories of adults in the US over a span of 10 years from 2003 to 2013. Overall, the majority of categories increased. Business was the most popular status in 2003, but it lost its popularity over the period. Although the number of adults who were self-employed equal with other categories throughout most of the period, however it increased considerably and it surpassed all of status in 2013. Meanwhile, building and educational training increased in a similar pattern over the period.
In 2003, the amount of people who worked in education training started at around 8 million and this was followed by a significant increase to 18 million at the end of the period. Despite the number of adults who were worked in hotel industry was the lowest in 2003, it witnessed a dramatic rise to 19 million in the final year. Building industry started off in 10 million, however it doubled over the period. The number of adults who were self-employed almost equal to people who work in building industry, and this was followed by a dramatical rise to 32 million over the period.
In contrast, employment in medical service was 20 million, but it halved in the end of the period. The adults who worked in business was the most popular in 2003, accounting for 47 million, but it was followed by a dramatical fall to 27 million in 2013. Unemployed people started at 12 million, however it saw a moderately decline, dropping to 5 million at the end of the period.
