Overall, closures and openings widely vary, and it is rather complicated to find a particular trend. However, a big dip in 2015 in closures is noticeable.
As for closures in particular, at the beginning of the period in 2011 there were a bit more than 6400 closed shops. For the next three years the situation did not much radically change: still about 6000 objects were shut down. Then, in 2015, a fall was faced, however, later the number remained at about 5000 closed shops up to and including 2018.
In terms of openings, the maximum point was reached in 2011, when nearly 8,500 new businesses appeared. Then, until the end of the period, the graph fluctuated between 3000 (in 2018) and 6000 appearances (in 2014).
